Our horseback riding excursions are exciting and rugged yet can also be tailored for families with small children or for seniors who would prefer a slower pace. Our youngest client, on an overnight horseback adventure, has been 1 & ½ years old; our eldest guest, 83 years young. No riding experience is necessary for horseback rides, and all ages are welcome. Our horseback rides are great for anything from a private & romantic marriage proposal to a large corporate incentive group events!

Our expert cowboy guides lead you safely through working cattle ranches, into canyons, through rivers, over plains, across gorges, and down sheer cliffs, all the while sharing with you their in-depth knowledge of the native flora and fauna. 

Our full day horseback riding excursion is 8 hours long. The difference between our half-day, full day and overnight horseback riding excursions is that our full day and overnight excursions have additional ranch activities included, like milking, cheese-making, visiting with the ranch animals (goats, rabbits, turkeys, pigs, horses, etc.), extended rides, hiking, swimming, cattle-herding, galloping, and roping lesson.

For a truly sensational equestrian adventure try our overnight horseback riding excursion. This camping horseback excursion, apart from including everything already mentioned, also includes roping lessons, horse racing, an evening bonfire (complete with ice cold beers for the adults and marshmallows and hotdogs for the kids), a midnight or early morning sunrise ride, and all of the camping gear necessary for a comfortable camping experience and a good nights sleep.

Hot Air Ballooning

Perhaps the most unique way to see San Miguel is from a hot air balloon. Balloon flights are available any day of the week (2 person minimum). Our hot air balloon adventures consist of an approximately 1 hour balloon flight. We typically fly directly over San Miguel and attempt to come as close to the main downtown square (El Jardin) as possible. At times we may find ourselves flying just a few feet from the ground, and at other times the balloon will fly clear above the clouds. Taking a sunrise flight on a hot air balloon makes a great gift for special romantic occasions, weddings & proposals! The hot air balloon flight will also take you out over the San Miguel countryside for the landing. 

Apart from the flight itself, clients also participate in the preparation of the hor air balloon which is also quite interesting. Meeting point is downtown, always departing early in the morning --get more details after confirming your flight with a 50% deposit.

Four-wheeler(ATV) Adventures

If you prefer an ATV (four-wheeler) adventure, we offer 3 hour and 6 hour guided tours with the best professionals in town. If you prefer to just rent your bike and discover the trails by yourself, you can do it with Coyote Canyon Adventures!

Mountain Biking & Hiking Adventures

We also offer a variety of mountain biking and hiking adventures. These outdoor adventures take us all around the countryside surrounding San Miguel and vary in level of difficulty ranging from beginner to advanced, and also vary in length to best suit your schedule.
