Of the activities that we manage, the one that kids tend to enjoy the most is the full day horseback riding excursion. Our full day horseback riding excursion is approximately 8 hours long and departs from San Miguel at 9am. It includes 4-5 hours of horseback riding time + transportation, breakfast, cow milking, cheese-making, visiting with the various farm animals (goats, sheep, pigs, chicks, bunnies, turkeys, calves, etc),  hiking, swimming, roping lessons, cattle-herding, a campfire meal  and rappelling(optional. This is a great family oriented adventure that I'm sure will be a very special experience for everyone. Or better yet if you have time to do an overnight horseback riding adventure then that would certainly be the most fun of all.

The first part of our horseback ride takes us over plains and amongst the roaming cattle, until reaching the canyon’s rim, where we begin our 30 minute descent. Then we arrive at the canyon bottom, where we find a winding river named La Virgen. The second part of our horseback riding adventure takes us down along the canyon bottom for an amazing canyon/river run.  Much of the canyon/river run actually takes place in the river itself and guests will also have time to hike along the riverbed and search for geodes and quartz crystals. Plus, several rest stops are scheduled along the way at the most scenic locations so that guests can take full advantage of the most outstanding photo opportunities. The views are spectacular in every direction and the sheer cliffs are sure to take your breath away.
